                                   Twilight - the time between daylight and darkness 

In the 1994 film "Forrest Gump", the lead character played by Tom Hanks says, "My mom always said life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

The metaphor: Life, like a box of assorted chocolates, is full of unexpected surprises and experiences.

                                           THE "TWILIGHT YEARS"

The term refers to the later stages of life, often associated with retirement and ageing. This period can be significant for reflecting on life's purpose and meaning.

May 25, 2025: Eyes open slowly. Voice (in head) whispers "Wakey-Wakey, time to rise from slumber. The woman lying next to you is Carole, your bride of 68 years. Carefully, roll over. Place "arthritic-tootsies" onto floor. Begin shuffle toward "throne room". Assume "Thinker position". Await first "reward" of this "special" day. Today's our 89th birthday. And despite body in rebellion mode + brain memory-vault leakage, we're still here. Whoopee...pee...pee...pee!"

Open Facebook page: Numerous ads for "Care Homes near you". Is that Zuckerberg's idea of a sick joke? His AI snoops knew, how?

NB: Back in the day "Care Homes" were called "Old-Folks Homes" and "Nearer to Thee" staging areas.

                "STUFF" ME/YOU DIDN'T KNOW OR DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW

2.3 percent of Canadians are aged 85 and over. 39 percent are men. 61 percent women. The veracity of the stats can be validated by visiting a "Care Home near you".

                                     THE "TWILIGHT ZONE"

The term refers to a situation or concept that's surreal, strange and difficult to comprehend.

Example: The day "Super Artificial Intelligence" (SAI) wrests control of electronic "gizmos" from humans.

Canadian Nobel Laureate, Geoffrey Hinton, considered the Godfather of AI, suggests this will happen soon. The genie is out of the bottle and it's already "writing its own code".

Stephen Hawking said of AI "It could be the biggest event in the history of our civilization, but it also could be our last."

2025 ushered in a "Twilight Zone" of dystopian chaotic proportions, courtesy of a detailed strategic plan, "Project 2025", that mirrors methods used by the Nazis (in the 1930's) to seize power in Germany.

A group of like-minded Conservative-Republicans associated with "The Heritage Foundation", spent four years developing "Project 2025", also known as "The 2025 Presidential Transition Project".

A political initiative to reshape the federal government of the United States and consolidate executive power in favour of right-wing policies - including the recruitment and training of government workers "loyal to" Donald John Trump.

DJT - Surreal, strange and difficult to comprehend. A 79-year-old man/child who steadfastly believes himself to be the "smartest person alive", a self-proclaimed "genius", anointed by the Almighty.

DJT - The schoolyard bully. Cruel, mean, vindictive, unpredictable. No friends. No attention span. No empathy or moral compass. Doesn't read, write, sleep, smoke, or drink alcohol. Addicted to television. Lies, cheats, accepts bribes. Fears losing. Craves adulation. His ego cannot be satiated. Won't appear in public without trademark (orange) TV makeup + skillfully crafted combover to hide the bald pate. Rain and wind venues avoided unless he wears a (MAGA) hat. Unable to read prepared speeches on a teleprompter without drifting off into a stultifying, long, boring recitation of past grievances (real and imagined), self-bluster and superlatives labelling everything the best there ever was.

DJT - Appointed a cabinet, comprised of a gaggle of dubiously qualified men and women. Highly skilled sycophants (ass-kissers) all. Thus ensuring Herr leader's every wish and whim are acted upon regardless of how bizarre or dangerous. 

Now that the Tweeter-sphere "pissing contest" between a mad-genius with a chainsaw and Emperor "Crazy Pants" has abated, it's time to shift focus onto another dangerous, willy villain, Russell Vought.

Who is Russell Vought?

The mastermind of "Project 2025". One of the key cadre of villains, behind the curtain, hiding in plain sight, who seek to control the president.

Mr. Vought's ideology: A militant anti-government zealotry that means he really considers government investment in infrastructure completely illegitimate, and wants to eliminate or sell to the highest bidder just about every government program, from Medicaid to NASA. 

NB: Retired four-star General and one of Trump's former Chiefs of Staff, John Kelly, said of the president "The most flawed person I've ever met." A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law."

                           MEANWHILE IN THE GREAT WHITE NORTH

Monsieur Ronald is impressed with the way "Marvelous Mark" a.k.a. Captain Canada, hit the ground running with a short list of big, bold, nation building initiatives meant to eliminate barriers to internal trade and accelerate nation-building infrastructure projects.

Opening up the guest list to the G7 was gutsy, shrewd and demonstrative of a leadership style the country has been missing.

A message to Carney naysayers: Our Country is under threat. Give the guy some slack, support and encouragement. If you won't, shut the f..k up!
